Hi All,
my rear nearside fog light is not working, after several tests I have established that the bulb is ok, the light cluster is OK, but somewhere between the switch and the connector in the light cluster there is a fault!
So before I spend many hours / money. if the fog light is there but does not work is that an MOT failure / legal requirement, as I know that the legal requirement is one either offside or centre (so pass on that) but not sure if there is one and it does not work is it a failure?
I have looked at the fuses and they do not seem to differentiate between nearside and offside so think they are on the same fuse
I was thinking of running a new wire from the offside light to the nearside to get it working as a quick fix / hack, but does anybody know if there is a known problem area on the wiring (with regard to fog lights)?
I am taking the car to the OPC on Tuesday for a health check so this will be a further question on the list of things to ask about!
Thanks

A lot of UK cars don't have a NS fog light as technically it isn't required. Someone may have put a bulb in the holder but it may never have been connected up from the factory. I've seen this happen a lot.
