I'm sure that there's one or two of you out there in this category

My stepdad, who is 71, is currently looking for his first Porsche, probably going to be a 2.7 Boxster with a value of around £7k
It will be a second car

I just had a quick butchers on the Asset trust site and it says that the classic policies are for drivers 23 - 70

Just wondered if any of our older drivers have had any problems with classic insurance

Give Paul a call, I am sure he will be able to advise.

Yes, he loved it, not even sure the turbos kicked in :D

Looks like we've found a cheap Boxster for him to run around in during the summer
A 2002 2.7 tip, a couple of wee scuffs and small dent but only paying £6k

Did look at a couple of 3.2's but popped in to have quick chat with Ray at Northway and he said much less chance of major issues with the 2.7.
Also I think that's plenty for someone who's been driving a 1.6 Civic for 10 years

Also a day out with Big John is on the cards for some driver training

Back to the topic of this thread

Insurance, we got 3 reasonable quotes from Peter James, Adrian Flux and Asset Trust.

Original from AT included breakdown which wasn't needed as already with AA, cost £378
AF came in at 318 with a 300 mile policy no breakdown

went back to Paul at AT and without breakdown he has arranged cover for £310 with 5000 miles :D

Sounds reasonable, glad you got it sorted. Peter is going to have a smile on his face for all of those miles :)
