Malvern Classics

Having returned from holiday last week and missed Gaydon, found myself gagging to attend a show especially as weather looking kind.

Only found out about the Malvern event at the Three Counties Showground late last night, so apologies for not asking here if anyone else fancied going.

Apparently they run a bigger event in the spring, but it was still a very pleasant small-scale show tucked under Malvern Hills.

Other Porsches there included a beautifully restored 1969 911E and trio of 944s (one S2 with only 42K).

One of the 944s was owned by a wonderful chap I met called Laurence Meredith, who some of you will know (I didn't) has written a number of fastidiously researched books on Porsche history, the latest on Porsche rally cars. Great pleasure to meet him and a bonus to hear he's considering a 928!

I saw the show advertised in Classic and Sportscar, I had to work this morning or I would have joined you.

You would have enjoyed it Sean and it would have been good to see you. I hadn't been this far West to a show before, so it was interesting to see some 'new' cars.

I liked the Mk V Cortina a couple of cars from me which had about 20K on the clock with original owner! Maybe he doesn't get out much...
