911 C4 996 CABRIO - NOISE

I bought a 911 C4 Cabro at the begining of this year. With the warm weather on the way I have now taken the hard top off for the first time (apart from the day I looked at the car). I was informed that the soft top had not been used very much. It does look in very good condition and not marked or stained, however, with the lid down the creaking and squeeking noises that are coming from the cars body are really bad. Any ideas? The soft top was squeeky to start with and creaked on acceleration (caused be the torque?) but a good dose of WD40 around the joints seemed to fix that.

Difficult to diagnose without hearing the squeaks.

My 996 Cab is fairly noisy with the lid off, but the exhaust drowns out any rattles. :)

Bring it down to club night at the Angel on the 7th Jon, and we can have a listen.

Cheers Steve

It has been known for the windscreen to squeak if it has not been fitted properly.

I used to lubricate the seals and if required, adjust the front locking mechanism..

Never really had the roof up that often to notice them... :D
