What is the best way to get scuffs out of laquer on the wheels? A car cover has rubbed the fronts on the boxster of my neighbour!!! I did tell him that outdoor covers were bad news

Try polishing them out with something like AutoGlym Super resin polish, next step up is AG do a Paint renovator that works well, if this doesn't work try something a bit more aggressive, like Farecla G3 from a bodyshop supplies company. Once done it'll need to be sealed with wax.

From the pictures looks like the top layer of colour has rubbed away, though hard to tell from the picture totally, if that's the case then I suspect refurb is only option as if the colour is removed no amount of polish will bring it back.
I would as started try AG SRP first and some effort to see if it fixes.
