My car currently won't lock and have done a wee bit of research. If the 986 is the same as the 996 then, if the glovebox or any cubby hole is open then it doesn't allow it to lock. My car now appears to have a fault with a micro switch on the drivers door. If you know someone with a Durameyric tool, they might be able to tell you if it's a door lock?

Not sure if this will prove anything but try disconnecting the ecu overnight and see if the battery is still going flat overnight

Is it a fully charged battery that is going flat overnight?
