Hi everyone, just a quick note to let everyone know that if you insure you car through Cherished Vehicle Insurance and cancel your policy after 90 days you do not get a refund on the balance of the insurance term.

Yes its one of the things that they don't tell you when you ring up, it's in the policy documentation somewhere. First time I have ever canceled a policy and not received a refund however small.

Just so you are aware, buyer beware. :bigsmurf:

That all depends on the reasons for, and need to, cancel.

I am with them, it's inexpensive, and I have no intentions of cancelling.
Only two reasons for cancelling - sale or write off. I personally, don't intend to sell so if I write it off, the balance is way less than the excess so that'll be the least of my worries.

Each to their own.......but as you allude to, read the small print - in EVERY case.

If its a classic policy then you won't get a refund after 14 day cooling period. Footman James, Adrian Flux, Hagety etc companies have all said this with classic policies I've had from them over the years. If you're taking the car off the road for winter then they can change policy to cover your car while its tucked in the garage just in case Mr theify comes or it gets damaged. They split the policy between summer use and winter hibernation and you just need to tell them.
