We just got our new (old) 944 insured through RH Specialist Insurance fully comp + legal with a £150 excess for a staggering £113, mind you we're ancient, with donkey's years of undiscovered moving traffic offences, apart from Jane's speeding fine a few years ago at a funeral!

Only had 1 quote for mine so far and that was over £700 for fully comp.

I would've thought 25 with 6 years NCB and no points on license would be better than that for a 83 944. Will have to try a few specialists.

Hagerty's are worth a try. I got my 968 on a classic policy with mileage limited to 5k, agreed value and two additional named drivers for £220.

Try Privilidge - I am 27 with 7 years NCB and they insure me for £380 and that inc business use. Everyone else wanted around 1000.

Sounds good. It won't be used for commuting or business use or do many miles (unless I end up taking it for a trip around germany) so should be able to keep the costs down.

Lancaster Insurance did mine for £159
I'm 37 with 12 years ncb. Limited to 5000 miles.
Fully comp with legal, agreed value of £2500 and the missus as a named driver too.
The excess is £50 for Fire or theft, accidental damage, or windscreen.

when i was looking for insurance quotes for my 44 i was getting figures around the 500-600 pound make, but i then rang a company called insurance factory and they actually insured me for 365 which was £100 cheaper than what i was paying for a 53 toyota corolla 1.6, if you google their name it will give you a link to the site and a free phone number too

Just as a word of advice. When you renew check a few days later it's on the MID database. Mine renewal was one letter out which meant I showed as uninsured, luckily I spotted it before the ANPR cameras did!

Linky is 'ere http://www.askmid.com/
