Just fitted the same gear stick but the bolt is substantially longer than the original pin and fouled the shoulder that the boot clips to. Had to grind the head down to give clearance and fit thinner washers.
All I can say is mine was a very simple "plug n play" and works fine

I have not got round to fitting the short shift kit yet as I need to give the car a good shakedown as off to Europe in the car next week

I like you had fun with fitting my CD player into place. Some fool in the past had fitted the HU via bullet connectors and not too well! Did you use an adaptor to fit the new HU in with or did you go about it another way?

It is quite surprising how cheap half decent HUs have become with quite a number of features, which have the bonus of saving one from a potential fine.

I left the 4 original pin and spade speaker connectors and had to repair the original power leads

Then soldered new power connectors to the units loom

The speaker connectors luckily I salvaged from the old unit

The unit works great and when the iPhone is on YouTube the audio streams through the Pioneer and the handsfree element works with no issues

Great value for the money

Any idea what the standard wheel stud length was on the rear of your S2 before you went +20? I have just offered up some wider cup replica wheels to mine and will need longer studs as the nuts only turn on a few threads!

Also, does anyone know if as standard front and back studs are the same length on an S2?

Cheers

Rob the rear studs I purchased were 54mm and original were 34mm

I have not removed/replaced front studs so unable to say what length they are

A good rule of thumb for a wheel nut is you must cover at least the diameter of the stud

So for a 14mm dia stud the nut must screw on at least 14mm any less and expect poss problems

Well I am home

1300 miles not a tool or spare part fitted to my car

4 x 944's on tour and the only part used was a 21w brake light bulb

Oh for the record an S2 runs well on 60 ltrs of E10 :blackeye: (well the pump nozzle was green) (asap it was watered down with 100ron V Power though)

How well the 944 S2 comes alive and it all makes sense at 90 mph

140mph+ on Autobahn and with the confidence to do it !

Particular highlights were Dinslaken Porsche Show

The bridge at Remagen Museum (the only "dry" crossing of the Rheine on the Allies march to Berlin)

Reims derelict Grand Prix circuit

Thiepval WW1 Memorial and a slow drive around various memorials and historic battle sites (very moving)

Playing Grand Theft Auto for real around the streets of Amiens looking for a McDonalds - lol

So many traffic lights so many Grand Prix starts ! Everyone wants to play - lol !

The cars were much admired and I would certainly do it all again - SOON !

Then the motley crew on Le Tunnel to come home (I am behind the camera - lol)

Couldn't have put it any better myself Dave :D

I've done 1495 miles door to door in the Turbo averaging just over 30mpg and except for the brake light bulb fitted to my car it ran like a dream.

Todays little job was to fit a new radiator from design911

http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod3558/ ... and-Turbo/

I had noticed "cool" areas on the radiator fins and the temp getting near the 2nd single line on the gauge

All good now and whilst my rad hadnt failed it is another job ticked off the ever decreasing list
