Looking schweeeeet Simon sure knows how to build clean looking engines, it will fit right in with the rest of your car

I'd love to do this but I'd guarantee i'll find a car which has a duff engine, spend all the time rebuilding it and find it's knackered and I didn't have the knowledge to notice while i was following the guides to the letter. I'd hate to think how much all the parts have cost too.

Well when I started thus I had no automotive knowledge, I have never serviced a car never changed the oil and had no tools and no garage, but there are so many good guides on the Internet and loads of helpfull people on here that give good advise it was really quite easy, I still have very limited knowledge but most of the work I do is cleaning painting and repairing.

Yes I've spent ££££££ way more than the cars worth but I've had fun doing it and the car is only going to go up in valve, I could have brought a Cayman but that would be going down in value at some point in the next 5 years I recon I will better off

How did you get the engine parts so sparkling clean? Did you take the parts somewhere eg the engine block/head to be checked over before you spent the time putting it all back together?

Well as Simon is getting on well with the engine I thought I should do a bit ....so picked up some nice new engine mounts from OPC and popped them in





and the other side

Exciting times new bits arriving all the time, this is a standard build so I thought I better get a new one of these



if you look around amazing what you can get this was less than the cost of some used ones on Ebay

Love this thread, very inspirational. Trouble is its rubbing off and I've already been down one slippery slope ref. Jackals Forge and his 993.

Started to fit the front bumper but lots of repair work to do first I quite enjoy fixing bits that can not be fixed so started with the broken bumper tab







with a bit of moulding I ended up with





needs to harden overnight then I'll trim and tidy



The indicators were looking a bit sorry with the silvering coming off and lots of corrosion







So set about adding Aluminium foil to the reflector



half way there




The final result after some cleaning








I'm going back to the amber indicators so gave the lenses a polish and were go to go
