Re: Le Mans Classic 2010
I now have the confirmation back from TD..
They say that we will be with TIPEC in their private campsite and that is on the Tertre Rouge corner in the "Hunaudieres" campsite...
Please can someone confirm this is correct?
Am really looking forward to the whole weekend - the countdown begins...

Re: Le Mans Classic 2010
Hi Folks
Anyone travelling back from Le Mans looking for a hotel on the sunday evening (11th july) might be interested to know where we are looking to stay.
The hotel we are using is Hotel Le Grand Cerf in Neufchatel en Bray and details are here for anyone that wants to book:
http://reservation-hotel.logishotels.co ... ernal=true
The hotel only has 12 rooms but these is another hotel in the village (Hotel Les Airelles) also available via the link above. If you can't book into Le Grand Cerf you could use the other hotel and meet us for a drink
All the best
Paul

I'm a new(ish) member (well, I haven't managed to get out to any events yet) and travelling to the Classic on the first Eurotunnel after 9am on Friday morning, staying at the TD club. Hope to meet a few of you there.

We're outbound through tunnel a couple of hours ahead of you so in theory will be at Le Mans when you arrive. Look forward to meeting you

Re: Le Mans Classic 2010
Hi All
Me again.
As I posted under introductions, I am going to Le Mans Classic in a few days time. I am travelling down with Malcolm(new Porsche owner and club member), Jim H and Paul G from SELINK (in Paul's 944) on the Thursday. My son is also coming along with a friend and they will be in my son's MGB. This will be our first big trip, so fingers crossed that nothing falls off (the car that is).
See you all there.

Re: Le Mans Classic 2010
Hi All
Have you looked at the grids yet? My favorite is grid 4, there are 3 TVR Grantura's entered. Considering that they only ever made 400 Grantura's, that is a good percentage.
Reason that I will be following these is that in my yoof, I ran a Grantura (actually, in total, I had 5!). This was the original bitza car. There was no Haynes manual for the car! I wrote a parts manual and I can still remember some of the bits that TVR used on it, like...
LHD ford 100e steering box turned upside-down in chassis (and filled with grease!)
Dumpertruck drive shafts
front VW Beetle suspension used back and front.
Austin Sheerline rear lights
I could go on and on....
What's your favorite grid and why?

Re: Le Mans Classic 2010
Hi there - got all the info now - can hardly wait until next week.
Will be on the 7am ferry out of Poole on Thursday - anyone else heading that way? Guess will be arriving somewhen late afternoon.
Quick question - how "smart casual" is the paddock? Because I wouldn't want to miss out there...
Anyway see you all next week.
