If I am welcome with my Elise again I'd like to attend assuming the date chosen doesn't clash with any other dates I have booked or planned.

Had a great time on the 2015 trackday.

As long as I am physically in the country I will be attending!

Blyton is fine, but I would be interested in Rockingham or how about Anglesey?

Its a fairly safe track, good value and a really interesting lay out!
Cheers

I have never driven it, but had a few rides around it.

Its got some nice gradients and is pretty smooth. And theres not much to crash into.

It would be my choice.
Cheers

PaulPSB wrote:After listening to the various comments and the main trends of the discussion I have asked for a May/June date at Blyton Park for 2016. I am suggesting that we have a joint event open to the MX5 guys as they came along last year and we had no issues on track. This also means less pressure on us to fill the places on our own.

I will put the date on here as soon as I have it from the organisers and will ensure it is circulated at the same time to all RO's

Please let's not have anyone sitting on the fence this time around. If you "thought about it last time" get involved this time around and we'll have a ball! :D

See you there

Paul
Hi Paul,

Is there any update on a date for this? My calendar for May and June is becoming increasingly crowded with dates that I will struggle to wriggle out of.

Thanks.

Yep, need a date. The TIPEC NW calendar is filling up, let alone personal stuff.

According to the tipec Bristol Facebook page the date has been set for July 16th at Blyton. Can anyone confirm?

I hope not... I've just read the description of the event on the 16th of July from the MoT web site and I'm not sure I'm interested.

Indeed, even for complete beginners, there's no need for a 'sessioned' morning at Blyton. But, and it's a big but, getting enough tipec members and friends to commit to our own day has proved to be a non-starter in past years...

I am pleased to confirm we have agreed a track event at Blyton Park for Saturday 16th July 2016, We are slotting into an existing "Club day" so the event will have a club feel without having to commit to hire the entire circuit on our own.

There are 3 clubs attending - MG on track, VW Polo and Tipec

Each club will have 3 dedicated morning sessions of 20 minutes so that only our own club's cars will be on track. In the afternoon the format will switch to open pit (OPL) so the 3 club's will mingle. Having attended track events will similar 20 minute sessions I can say it works well and will give any first timers a more comfortable introduction. The more familiar OPL in the afternoon will make for some friendly inter club rivalry.

The good news is that the cost of the day will be only £130 per car. There will be no additional charge for additional drivers or passengers.

The only added cost would be helmet hire and/or driver tuition booked on the day.

To book you need to email me via paulpsb928@yahoo.co.uk with your name and club membership number . I will send you details of our bank so you can make your payment to the club - not to the organiser!

I hope to see you at Blyton :D

:(

3 x 20 minute sessions in the morning is a bad arrangement for those of us sharing a car. It means one of the two drivers gets only 20 minutes track time for the entire morning.

I am doubtful that makes it worthwhile with a 400 mile round trip and an overnight stay thrown in. I will discuss and revert with our decision.

Brian and I did a quick change at Mallory in each block to share the 20 min sessions and it worked fine

Hi, I'm interested in this but have never been to a track day before and have no idea what it involves. Is it for standard cars or do you need roll cage and spare tyres? Can you provide some more info or post some useful resource links? Also, would it be an option to come as a spectator?

Cheers.
