Earlier in the week I fired up my 930 turbo which has been sleeping in its corner of the workshop, listened to the fabspeed bark, warmed her up, and then spent a couple of hours picking some of the melted plastic car cover off of the body.

Determined to restore her this year, but then she has to be sold before she kills me, then my LHD 964 cab needs restoring, put back to its original peppermint green and is sold before I decide I like her... and then I have promised myself I will treat myself to a (ideally) LHD 993 C2 coupe which will be the keeper.

Opened the garage door, pulled back the cover, sat in the drivers seat and drank a G&T while eagerly looking forward to better weather. Soon I promise!

This afternoon I will carry on stripping out the interior, full carpet set arrived on Thursday. Once stripped, I will be re fitting the carpets, refinishing all trim and seats, refitting the rear window in the hope of having it all completed by the end of March. Roll on April and spring! :toothy8:

Got back home after a great birthday weekend - went to Cornwall in the Boxster. Got back Sunday evening to find that my son had taxed the 3.2 for my birthday - what a great present. Needless to say - went straight out in it! :D

Just had:

Minor service.
Replacement n/s lower cam cover gasket.
Replacement ignition lead set.
Replaced the clamps etc. for the exhaust tips.
Put the sunroof mechanism back together as a gearbox securing nut had come loose.
Some minor bits and bobs.
Becker head unit finally fitted and old Sony unit plus poorly fitted CD changer and the mess of wiring removed.
Fit ToreB HID lights. Highly recommended.

This morning the glovebox catch thingy was sorted so it now shuts properly and stays closed.

I was decisive and decided to have another slash and burn attitude to my Porsche collection.

My 1981 911 Turbo needs a repaint, and for the last two years all I have done is start it up to listen to it bark and taken it around the block a couple of times.

So, in the last week we had a new windscreen fitted, found the original black leather sports front seats with red piping that this model left the factory with, gave it a bloody good clean up where it had been gathering dust and got it ready for an MOT.

Its running lovely, makes an amazing noise out of the exhaust, no smoke and I am 99.9% sure the only real problem with it is the state of the paintwork and the few rust bubles (usual bit under the front drivers headlight)

However, I am not going to get the time to do her justice, I have too many other cars (down to only about 15 Porsche now, which is progress!!) but the real thing is, how much is she worth?!?!? even though on Pistonheads there are 10 of them, the cheapest real 930 for sale is £42k, and the most expensive ones is £60k (there are about 4 out of 10 at that price)

Anyway, she is going on ebay tonight at 7:15pm which is when the auction is scheduled to start. A £1 starting bid, a £30k buy it now price.. If someone makes me a decent offer I will end the auction, but otherwise it will go for whatever it bids upto over seven days.

I will probably cry about this later, but I still have another air cooled 911 and netiher of them are my ideal car, what I would really like is a 933 C2, and I think I might already have one, so the 911 Turbo has to go and then I will ponder on what to do with my 964 cab which I have also not driven in 6 years!!!

I think my 964 cab is now ready for another great year's driving.
12,000 mile service by Project Nine Engineering in Kent (including 2 new rear shock absorbers - the Stelvio pass on last year's porsches, palaces and passes must have finished the old ones off!).
Headlight reflectors rechromed and roof seals replaced so ready for Scottish tour in May and Classic Le Mans and Loire Chateaux in July.
Car cleaned polished and ready to go - see photos
