I anyone sitting on the fence on a set of Quickjacks , get them , bloody brilliant .
These are now my number one garage must have with a long reach battery ratchet a close second .
Clutch ,P/P and torque tube back in just leaving the gearbox to be thrown back in on wednesday . Might even be ready for a boxing day blast !

Far too clean under there to be driving outside in the winter!!

Finished of clutch job this morning and drove her out the garage , what a difference . Clutch pedal as light and smooth as a vw polo . I have attached a photo of guilty party , you can see the burnt area on the face and very rough . Need to put some miles on her now .

Same colour, ride height, and wheel size as my turbo. I like it .

I assume you have the front undertrays refitted Simon? A few years ago after changing the belts I didn't for a while. Around 160 on a private road the steering went very light . I'd be interested what modern car you think yours compares to now? I had a little play with a new 500bp M3, in the corners I could stay with it, on acceleration it easily pulled away .

Thanks for the heads up Paul . I have refitted anti rollbar and first plastic belly pan . Never had the aluminium one , is this needed ?
Hard to say what modern cars it equates to now . What I like about the 944 is its size . Modern sports cars have grown in size considerably even a 992 looks big sat alongside a 944.
Performance wise its hard to judge , the acceleration can sometimes make me laugh nervously which is a good sign . But gearchange and brakes to some degree don't even get close to a modern sports car . And modern sports cars don't have that old car smell I strangely crave .

I do have all 3 undertrays fitted, but I reckon the 2 plastic ones are what matter. And especially the large one that mounts to the front air dam/bumper. I think they reduce front lift, and perhaps pressure on the underside of the bonnet. I'd done similar in my old 3 door Cosworth, and never felt anything like it. Though the Sierra did have bonnet vents, like your turbo bonnet has I think?

IIRC the 3rd aluminium tray is quite important for the aero performance. It has side fins that perform some task.

I think I'm also right in saying it only came on the turbo. Mine was missing when I acquired my car and it took quite a bit of tracking down to get one. If the 2nd tray is the same on the S2 then it should bolt on. The posts in the wheel arches for the side brackets are notorious for stripping as well and most likely won't be in good nick if they've been lying exposed without bolts on them for years although your car looks super clean. And in saying that, maybe the S2 didn't come with those posts fitted? a 10mm nut and washer secures both sides to the posts. Worth checking all that out!

Hi Stuart , this car is an 86 turbo so posts should be there . My other car was originally an s2 so will have a look .
I see rose passion have them for £118 inc vat so will probably order one when I’m convinced there are no further leaks . When I changed the flywheel I changed the rear main seal for a OE one which has stopped the small leak I had there . Really is worth getting those important seals from Porsche I have found .

There's nyloc nuts there on my car, I've never done them up much more than finger tight. I've riveted the tray together as well.

New tray is only just over £100 from Porsche
