A pal spoke with the organiser late last week and apparently this event
is only 40% full
Could mean plenty of space on track which suits newcomers to track events
Worth booking if you're still sitting on the fence

Hi Paul,
Is camping included in the booking cost or is it booked separately with an extra cost? I can't remember if I booked when booking the track day and can't any reference to it on the confirmation email, nor any way of booking it separately on the website.
Cheers,
Bryan

It appears you need to book it here:

It was good to do a track day with some other 944 owners there as well.
Your friendliness and helpfulness convinced me to join the forum, which was long overdue to be honest.
Particular thanks to Glenn for the pax laps and your advice on anti-roll bars.
I was the one with the silverish S2.
Dan.

Good to see you here, Dan. I hope you're making progress with that misfire you had?

I was only there on the Saturday, but Porsches were very much in the minority. I've been to the last 3 TIPEC track days at Blyton and it lacked the club feel, compared to 2015. The amount of time lost due to red flags was incredible.
It's still a great day out on a great track and there isn't really anything to complain about, but I'd hesitate before going back if the event is organised in the same way next year.
Cheers,
Bryan

I don't ever remember seeing a red flag at Blyton when I've been there.

Sadly, tipec can't generate enough involvement to justify a solo day just for our members (and a few friends of the club). Last year I found some of the old MG's to be inconsiderately driven and with hand-held cameras being used on-track which had been specifically mentioned in the driver briefing!
North West region normally manage to get between 8 and 10 cars to Blyton (none this year because we already had another gig planned). If all the regions could get a similar number of participants we could easily run a successful day with only our own people on track. But that ain't gonna happen!

I've replaced the speed / reference sensor but the problem hasn't gone away.
I'll start a separate thread about it.
On the Saturday the red flags were mostly for breakdowns and fluid spillages where the marshals had to recover a vehicle or clean up fluids. There weren't any crashes that I can remember.

Yes, unfortunately the longest stoppage on the Saturday was due to one of our own. A rather lovely 928 SE decided to have a power steering hose failure and deposit quite a lengthy trail of PS fluid on the track.
