Got a bottle of Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber cleaner from Boyes stores £4.99 (Halfords £6.49) it worked a treat on the door cards, dashboard and even better on the rear spoiler which now looks black rather than brown grey. What I like about it is you can have it shiny or matt depending on how you apply it.

Boyes also had Autoglym super resin polish, car shampoo and conditioner plus lots of other stuff from autoglym at very good prices plus they were selling Mer and Meguiers stuff at similarly low prices, well worth a look if you have one of these stores near by.

I use Meguiar's leather cleaner / conditioner. When I do the seats I just do everything at the same time. Sometimes I just give it a quick clean with Pledge.

However, to ensure I never get a cracked dashboard, I always always use a sun shield inside the windscreen throughout the summer. Wherever and whenever I stop (but obviously not at traffic lights) I put the Simpsons sunshield in (other sunshields are available), making sure the dash is completely protected from the sun. I've had it a few years now, and if you look at how faded the pictures are - their faces used to be yellow but now they're white - you can tell how much damage must be being done to a non-protected dashboard..... in fact as we know they crack.

I do the same and use a foil sunshade £1.49 eBay with some homemade suckers to hold it in place when I leave the car in the sun, it stops the dash getting hot and also the car.
