Just had four Toyo T1Rs fitted to my S2 not had chance to try them properly only put on yesterday but they are certainly quieter and more comfotable then the Pirelli they replaced. They are 255/40/17 rear 225/45/17 fronts M&M tyres in Middlesbrough £370 all done inc balancing new valves etc. They are getting hard to get hold of took about 2 weeks for them to come in but worth the wait for the price. They have not bedded in yet but do feel more reponsive to small steering input as you would expect with new rubber and do seem to grip well in the dry not tried anything in the wet yet need a few hundred mile to run them in I think.

Shouldnt you be going for N rated tyres though?

Why would he need N Rated, the approval only came out in 1990 so marginally relavent on an 964 & no way Porsche are still testing tyres to N rating on a 18 year old car!

My sentiments exactly see extract from Michelins tyre selector chart "The ‘N’ designation (N0, N1, N2, N3) used in the specifications above indicates that the respective tyre has been exclusively developed
for the corresponding Porsche model." I do not believe the tyre manufacurers would have wasted time developing and testing a tyre specific to an outgoing model and my S2 hand book clearly states ZR rated tyres so IMHO I would conclude ZR rated Toyo T1Rs with a load index 94Y so 670kg and the highest speed rating of 186mph which I don't think my S2 could reach if it tried

Sorry my 1990 comment was with regard to 944 S2 but still applies to the 993 in the context of, will Porsche test current N rated tyres on a 993, I suspect not.
