There'll be a double room free here and 2 singles in our caravan (both full of heat and beer!) - could squeeze in more on air beds / tents etc. if necessary. You will not be allowed to remain sober though!

if anyone's looking for free digs - I'm 40 mins south of Blyton. Either / both nights - whether I'm there or not (but I hope to be for at least one day). Don't think I can stretch funds to a whole weekend boohoo.

Excited!

Is this just open to TIPEC members Paul or is it shared with other clubs?

Cheers,

Cheers,
Bryan
It will be a shared event as in previous years. This means there is no financial risk to the club and the standard/courtesy of driving has never been a problem for us as Blyton is well martialled.

Hope to catch up with you there Pal

As I was never asked which club or what I was driving when I booked, I am curious as to how they're going to work out who is with whom... or does it not matter? I thought they were planning on running some club sessions.

Cheers Paul. Booked and paid for Saturday. It'll be my first track day in the Cayman, so should be fun to stretch its legs. See you there.

Glen - it's open pit lane but we can group ourselves together to go out on track at the same time

Great - you'll have to tell me how the handling differs to the '44

An interesting development for Blyton... It seems Ginetta have bought the place!

Big development indeed. Let's hope it's as positive as it sounds

They will need to recoup the spend, hopefully we don't see the prices go up. They may opt to organise things themselves which could be good negating the need for third parties all the time. :)

I seriously enjoyed the 2013 event at Blyton and usually miss the boat with the ones since (although after my Nurburgring trip in a ring ambulance later in 2013, in 2014 I doubted I would be able to drive fast or go on a track day again!)

The weekend option sounds good, I have a new wife who is a trackday virgin and needs some tuition!

In 2013 there were a couple of track tutors there charging reasonable rates, although I think they were from TrackAction, anyone know if there will be any tutors for hire there this time?

Now I just need to decide which car to take...
Clean it, wax it, love it, ENJOY it... then fix it

You will need:

A roadworthy car.

A full tank of fuel.

Your driving licences.

Long sleeved tops.

Long trousers.

A helmet each. Helmets are usually available to hire if you don't own same. However, a well-fiitng motorcycle helmet is not an expensive item to buy (£50 will sort you out easily) and it'll be your own sweat inside it and you'll know it's history. Open face is acceptable in a hard top car. Full face in a convertible. Secondhand/hire helmets are a pet hate of mine, can you tell?

Blyton is a very open, flat and safe little circuit. It is very, very well marshalled and controlled so it's unlikely that there'll be any black flag moments. It's easy to find your way around Blyton and you'll be able to gently build up your speed if you want.

If you are foolish you may spin. If you are not foolish, you'll enjoy pushing the car a bit harder than normal: you stand a chance of the the tyres sliding a little and you may encounter some oversteer (which is fun).

We had a 928 from the North West region there last year and it was circulating with aplomb!

Any further info required?
