That disc looks nice, yuk!
I have a similar set of rears awaiting replacement on mine too, hopefully I'll get round to it this weekend...
I've had a very similar experience to yourself: the previous owner of my T had a full belts service and oil service by Leicester OPC and just three months and 3k later I find the following: the airbox was full of crap, a few bolts around the belts were loose/missing, the balance shaft belt was loose, there's a slight coolant leak from the thermo housing and the power steering pump was pissing fluid everywhere as the seals had gone (£20 seal kit and half hour tops to rebuild).
Needless to say I wasn't too impressed and have advised the previous owner to avoid them in future if he ever has a Porsche again! Dealers are too used to replacing modular parts these days so task them with some proper spanner waggling and they struggle it seems.
Disc looks a bit better now !
Having worked in main dealers for 15 years the main problem for the paying customer was "time saved bonus"
Technicians are given a "book" time for a service or repair - the customer is charged the "book" time at the current labour rate
So a 2 hr service becomes 2 hrs at labour rate charge to customer
The technician is given 2 hours to complete the task
If said technician completes the task in 1 hour he gets paid an extra 1 hour "time saved bonus" and start his next job.
In effect the Dealer and the technician gets paid twice for the same hour "saved" by the technician as the technician can now be doing another customers car.
Time Save Bonus is a sure fire recipe for corner cutting and missed items such as those suffered by the previous owner of my car - usually only the "bare bones" minimum is carried out and not a penny or minute more !

Moved onto the rear brakes
Scary what I found on O/S/R !
So off with the N/S/R - very strange ?????
Near new rear shoes !
So into the history file I delved
07/09/2011 - 3,000 miles ago
Porsche Centre Newcastle charged previous owner £586.87
This was to replace a seized gear linkage (£180.00) and N/S/R park brake shoes ONLY ! (£406 !)
Funny how they have charged customer for a full set of 4 shoes ???????
Vehicle was initally booked in for a "FREE" Complimentry Vehicle Visual Health Check - What a crock of sh*t !

I've just whipped the rears off mine and found something similar; one missing friction shoe on one side ignored by a previous dealer or 'specialist'... That's just shocking on yours though, un bloody believable.
Now running off to ECP to get a new set of shoes...

Jesus this is shocking on both counts, you entrust your car with a 'specialist' and expect it to be treated right. There's certainly a lot of merit in being able to work on your car yourself

When I purchased my car I was given a large file of invoices and reading through them it is very clear that Porsche Owners are seen as "Fair Game" for having their pants down.
Yes I may be in the minority in being able to work on my own car but I have been pleasantly surprised on the availability of Porsche Parts and more importantly the RRP of genuine Porsche parts are way below what I ever expected, so where some of the rather large bills come from is purely from high labour costs.
Then to see the condition of the brakes on my car AFTER it was "serviced" by Porsche centre Newcastle is nothing more than SCAREY !!
If not having a full Porsche dealer service history is putting you off buying a Porsche then I suggest you take any wad of history invoices with a pinch of salt and still have your own entrusted mechanic/dealer/garage check the car over very carefully.

Christ I think that I am glad to own a Promax owned car now truth be told!
But it goes to show that a FDSH (D for dealer) cannot count for all that much and that using one's instincts can go quite a way.
I see your car is on the way to becoming a minter

Todays little operation !
Removed the fuel pump cover to gain access to the in tank fuel filter and replace the small rubber fuel hose from tank to pump
Found a severely corroded fuel line clip on the hose to the tank that was damp - the second I touched it the clip snapped and fuel poured out
Drained tank and cleaned the in tank filter and had already ordered a new fuel hose and filter seal from Porsche that I get tomorrow or Thursday

Thinking of puting 20mm spacers & studs on the rear of my S2. Out of interest where did you get them from? Like to see a picture of how they look with the wheels fitted if pos?
Cheers,
Steve

Quite a productive 1/2 day today
All timing belts and pulleys/guides removed
Balance shafts seals removed
Water pump removed (it put up a good fight - lol)
Cam tensioner removed for new oil pipe and wear pads
Tomorrow I will be removing camshafts to fit a new chain
