The 991 is a lovely car and if I wasn't from Yorkshire and the thought of losing all that loot over the first 3 years I would probably go in and buy one. Having driven it for 300+ miles it has not thrilled me enough to go and look for one right now.
Which is a relief as I have a few projects I want to complete before winter. Change the barn doors on the garage for remote roller shutters and lay a new drive.

If your going to chop in the 996, get a 996 Turbo... All the depreciating is done with and in the future it will go up in value one day... If looked after it is less fragile than the non turbo 996 too.. Its just finding one that has not been owned by miser who has dodged maintenance or a nutter who has beaten it to death is the main problem.. But find a good one and you will be a happy chappy for many years Sean!
Or you could get a 997 turbo if you fancy a change, but they still have some falling to do, which will make the Yorkshire bits of you twitch a bit.
Clean it, wax it, love it, ENJOY it... then fix it

The 996TT is a great buy, I also like the look and size of the new Boxster.
