Thanks guys,
it's a real killer, Every time I drive the old girl I'm left in a lot of pain the following day....I might have a real issue continuing with the car. Looks like I may be confined to comfy saloons at this rate

Sorry I am going to miss you again Jon. See you soon hopefully.
Is the neck issue an old problem or a new one which only occurs in the '44?

it's an old one, broke my neck in car crash a few years back...sadly it's only the 944 giving me real problems. I thought it might be the lack of pas but I've driven one with pas and the problem is still there. if it was just an ache or two I could live with it but this is a 9 out of 10 on the discomfometer.
Still mulling over how I get around this one....I drive a Merc daily, a cooper S and a Fiat Coupe without issue so I'm begining to think it's the steering wheel / seat position possibly

I am sure it is.
I have had a couple of bouts of surgery on my spine and found the 944 driving position a little "hunched up". For that reason I took the original steering wheel off and fitted a momo replacement with steering boss extensions to bring the wheel closer to me. It has made a huge difference to my comfort driving the car. Perhaps something similar would help you?

Glenn,
I'm going to try adjusting the seat angle (raised at the front) to give a bit more support and play about with the angles to make it more comfortable. I'm also considering fitting electric PAS which may help...watch this space, we're not done yet!

Excellent day out, some good close racing and good company and the Hailwoods breakfast wasn't bad either
Mark took the time to show us around the car and explain the finer details of the lack of interior
In the pits...............
In the thick of it................
The support..............
