Really superb work 8)

How did you fix the huge hole in the leather cover as shown in your first photo?

The covers were from my old seats, I justed glued some foam into the hole, covered it with trunk liner and fitted the new cover :D

Excellent job!

Armacell foam tape is good for building up old worn and compressed bolsters, works best when layered in a criss cross pattern.

Cheap and nasty thin bin bags are great fo helping to pull the seat covers back on, put a bin bag over the seat then pull the cover over the seat, it helps slide it all into place and then you can reach inside the cover and pull out as much of the bin bag as possible

Simon
An old thread

I'll send you some with the battery tray, I have enough to do one set of seats :D

do you have the covers? are you covering them yourself?

I have however found a company that sells liquid expanding foam suitable for seats ...I really want to try moulding some new seat bases and rear carpet backs but I guess I'll have to finish my car before I get time to play :D

Thanks Ken. I hadnt seen it before you linked to it recently.

I have a set of original sports seats with rotten woolen covers. The seats are quite good underneath but the stocking/jute is missing where the berber has broken up.

I was intending to buy a modestly priced set of vinyl covers from America after I had repaired them.

They look a lot worse now after a year or two in a lock up garage. They were taken out of the car because the wool berber was looking tatty after it got wet. Unusually they arent worn out despite being in terrible cosmetic condition.
