This weekend i have removed the venturi pipe, ISV, removed the metal 3 pipe effort and replaced with single lines and altered the vac lines a bit to correct some bits that seemed wrong. The boost lines (from my boost solenoid that replaced the cycle valve) are now seperate lines and since it worked will be swapped out again for single sections of silicone pipes.

idle is better, running is smoother again so all good so far!

Today I put the bonnet back on and took the hatch off, respray after next weekend! Need some new gas struts on the bonnet I think but not urgent. Took an age to get the gaps equal on all sides of the bonnet but well worth doing!

Also hoovered all the inside ready for the new interior to go in after respray.

Circa 250 miles since removing the ISV, the venturai and remapping the Vac Lines (including the brake booster line going straight to the inlet manifold, line from fuel vapour thing to the throttle body being re installed etc) and the car is better at idle, starting fine in the cold and damp and running nicely. There is a noticeable change in the engine note, it is a bit smoother now.

Running the ECU in adaptive mode at the moment and reviewing its findings, then I can fine tune manually. Once this is complete I will do an economy run (me driving the commute in a sensible fashion!) to see if it can beat my previous best of 26.5 mpg!

Once again tried to improve my instrument lighting in my S2, got some different LEDs with multiple small LEDs built in rather than one piece T10 W5W 501 194 168 Car White 20 SMD LED Side Light Wedge Bulb Lamp DC 12V.

The previous fix I had done with mirror foil was coming off the reflectors (lasted 3 years) so I removed all the tape and glue again and re fitted the mirror foil (hobbycraft) then taped over with high temperature adhesive style tank tape. Absolutely fantastic now I can see the dials and indeed even needed to dim the display down with the dash adjuster.

Previous fix had used wide spread LEDs and was at the time an improvement but these new LEDs are much better as they seem to go further into the reflector unit and this time I taped over all the joints where the reflectors fit to the instrument cluster to stop any light leakage.

spent a couple of hours with my head in the footwells removing and cleaning the earth points, all electrical collections plus lubing the brake rod pivot points and connection to the brake master cylinder.

I think I have sold one of my Porsche :(

My lovely cobalt blue 968 is to go overseas to its new home in a couple of weeks.

My family and friends will be happy to hear this news. As part of my recovery as a compulsive Porsche collector, I have weeded down my collection by three cars in 2012. Two 944 S2's and the 968. Thats a reduction of about 10%....

Bad news to my family and friends... I bought 3 cars this year!! :P A 930 Turbo and two 944 Turbos... So really a reduction of 0% in my car collection :D

I'm not doing very well at this weeding down my collection effort am I??
