Hi all

Sorry for keeping you guys waiting that long with that one...

it was not up to us though...after three weeks of waiting the english post finally managed to deliver the long-awaited package with the GTS headlights to Switzerland. So I spent the weekend removing the front of my 951 to develop the fitment items for the GTS headlight units and to adapt the housings to the covers...

I'm truly impressed by the fitment we have achieved, it really is very good.

But enough words...here are some good pictures for you:

And some interesting information gathered during the removal of the old parts:

OEM Pop up lights (Complete units which we removed):

Headlight units including plastic buckets and frame 2x 2350g - 4700g
Metal OEM covers - 800g
Lift motor including right bracket for lift bar - 2280g
Lift bar - 960g
Left bracket for lift bar - 210g
Rubber seals - 320g
Miscellaneous (brackets, screws) - 700g
Total weight of OEM lights - 9970g

Deutsch Nine GTS fixed light kit:

Total weight of system inc. all brackets – 1890g

Weight Saving 8080g!

We are accepting orders for this kit now, contact me via PM if interested.

Cheers

Beni

Their website says 580 Euros which equals £462 at current exchange rates

That looks really cool! 8) But I would rather have them with twin 9mm Hella units fitted. When do you think you'll have these versions completed?

Looks like a very slick conversion kit. What’s with the big silver bolt that can be seen sticking up on the inside edge though?

Beautiful. But a lot money. :| I would have thought they would sell a lot faster at £250. Too rich for me. The accountant would throw a fit & I wouldn't get any tea for weeks. She's only just got over the respray.

DEUTSCH NINE is proud to introduce its new Carrera GTS headlight kit for the Porsche models 924 and 944 combining best functionality with precise fitment characteristics and an appealing period-correct look.

We have focused on the following key characteristics when developing this kit:

- Lightweight design: one assembled GTS headlight unit weighs less than 1 kg
- Superior fitment characteristics and best adjustability: The kit offers best “out-of-the-box” fitment characteristics and thanks to the adaption to the OEM bearing brackets it can be easily positioned and adjusted
- Superior manufacturing quality and high quality components: The kit comprises high-quality headlight buckets finished in black-matt, nicely shaped and finished headlight covers made from Makrolon UV, carrier tubes made from prepreg carbon and TUV approved Hella H4 Headlight units
- Period-correct look and appearance

The kit retails at 499 euros and offers the following scope of delivery:

- 2 headlight buckets made from FRP finished in black-matt
- 2 headlight covers made from Makrolon UV
- 2 Hella H4 headlight units
- 4 prepreg carbon fiber carrier tubes
- Complete hardware kit for the installation

The kit is available from Mid March 2009 on a first come first served basis.

And here are the pictures:

However, it does need some clear front lenses to properly finish it off....IMHO
