Okay, I have already said elsewear what a great show this was, but for the sake of balance i have the following to say, and there will be one or two people who will not like it! This is about the competitions, how come an outright 100% show car can be entered into the pride of ownership contest, and win! shurely this is not in the spirit of the event. I said when I arrived that if this car wins i will be really disappointed , guess what? I would love to know how many miles on its own wheels it covered going and coming from the show!plus when the four cars for another competition were voted for by the audiance/members the cars which progressed were the cars which had been supplied with parts from Porschesh$p, or had been featured on Porsche9$$and porscheworld, every one there knew it was the 928 that had won. This is a shame, some may not agree, and I am sorry for them for that, there were people at the show who will agree with me , but will they stand up :D

As a newbie i cant comment on your comments as i dont know the history of the winner etc and i wasnt there for the audience vote..

I didnt get the whole show n shine section being called pride of ownership..

I am proud of mine, and I'm sure nearly everyone on here is proud of theirs too.. Just I dont like shiney cars, never have, never will.. But because i don't polish it and have perfect paint doesn't mean I'm any less proud - in fact it may mean those of that don't are more proud because we get out n drive ours as they were intended to be driven.
for example in the 356 section i totally loved the ratty looking speedster, i took lots of pics of it and spent a good time looking it over.. I'd be very very proud to own that

hope that makes sense..

Ouch!! :blackeye:

Pride of ownership is a competition about a cars detail to cleanliness.

The detail that had gone into the winning 944 was amazing. I did not know the background to the car until after the prize giving. Colin lost the use of one arm due to a muscle issue, he bought the 944 to aid his recovery which has taken over 9 years.

Dominic from Meguairs chose the winners and it was a very close run thing between the two 944's.

I was sat in front of the Marquee for the cars the star. It was a close run thing between the RS Rep and the 928, it could have gone either way, regardless the Slantnose would have one.

It was all meant to be a bit of fun, with some crowd participation. The booing by the 928 supporters was perfect.

You are more than welcome to be the MC next time or the geezer that picks the cars to ensure fair play :D
