WHERE TO MOUNT SUB WOOFER / AMP IN 944 ??
I have a top of the range Alpine head unit & Alpine active subwoofer/amp in my MR2 that i want to transfer to my 944, ive upgraded the standard original porsche 6 x 4 speakers front & back to modern Alpine/ JBL equivelents & would have liked to use the sub woofer/amp as well, but where on earth can you mount it in a 944 without it being obtrusive ?? was going to fit the 6 CD changer too, but where can i put this too without it being in the way of anything ??, the boot is the obvious place but i use that quite a bit & its small enough as it is, i like stuff hidden out of the way, but unlike the MR2 theres no space under the seat to mount the amp/ woofer & no front compartment ( like the MR2 ) to mount the changer, the only other obvious space is behind the drivers & passenger seats mounted upright on the rear seat kick panels, has anyone done this ? or know of a better place, cheers, Tony

I mounted my powered sub in the spare wheel well, and the 6-cd chainger in the drivers side 'cubby' in the boot on my 968, mounted the powered sub under the glove box in the 924, and the 6 pack cd in the nearside 'cubby' in the rear. all hidden, and sounds great!

Aha !! that sounds a great place to mount the CD changer !!, did it skip much being back there in the 968 ? will look under the glove box in my 944, because if it fits under there that will be a great place to put it !!, will let you know how i get on, cheers for that, Tony

Re: WHERE TO MOUNT SUB WOOFER / AMP IN 944 ??
Never had any skipping problems... but one day the 924's CD refused to play, and when I checked the water drain pipe had perished, resulting in the cubby filling up like a bucket!...hence one drowned Pioneer cd changer..... so always check the drain pipes from the sunroof, and the hatch latches, as they drain out via the cubby's! (on the 24 and 68) Ill take a picture and stick it up to show how I positioned mine in the 924... now you see it....
now you dont....
