CUP 1 WHEELQ'S

Post by zola1 »

Hi,

Can any one shed any light :-

Got Cup 1's on my 87myr 944 Rears :-
PORSCHE CUP 1 WHEEL SIZE.jpg
This one reads ET49

1). I'm not sure if they are Porsche OEM wheels as i have read that they would have pt no stamped on the beginning with 944 *** or 911 *** ???

2).They are 9J x 17" thats a lot bigger than the std wheels, :o ..has any one got similar sized wheels on their 944, if yes what sort of suspension/tyre combo did you go for to avoid the harsh ride (tw the s/abs and bushes etc are all the original :( , makes for quite a unforgiving hard set up on Michelin Co-pilots 245's, just had the wheels off today and gave them a good clean up and noticed some cracking of the side walls (not horrendous big cracks but i think its done to the rear having no compliance ) ? any thoughts.

Cheers

Derrick

They look like Mille Miglia wheels -had those on my S2.

As I recall I was running 255/40 & 225/50.

I dont think there is a lot you can do about the ride, its the way it is with 17's unless you spend £1500 on KW suspension.

968 caster mounts are advised.
