Hi all, possibly looking to buy a 928 s4 to use in the summer months.

I currently have a 1979 Trans Am which is my summer toy but i've decided to sell it and if i can afford it i'd like to replace it with a nice 928.

My name's Gordon and i live in central Scotland.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

Not a problem mate, I'll bring her to the meeting if you want? Mike Dowie was going to use her as I'm using the 996 and I don't want her to sit and not get used. Taxed her last week, so I'm good for the next 6 months. :D

Hiya Gordon, a lovely looking Porsche the 928 and what an engine, I must admit I keep toying with the idea of getting one myself having owned a 944S and currently a Boxster but I don't think I could get away with the standard £1500 a year maintainance money at the moment as we've got baby number 2 on the way and are also looking at moving. I also fancy a 911 (996) as they are cheaper than ever to own at the minute but I keep hearing horror stories about the engine (a future post of mine).
Anyway good luck with it all mate and keep us posted as you may just tempt me

Cheers folks, good luck with the new arrival Brucey, you'll be kept busy there mate.

Been a Porsche fan for years and would love a 911sc but can't afford one so i think a nice 928 would fit the bill nicely and it'll be better on fuel than the t/a.

Good choice of car Gordon I am sure Lee will give you all the encouragement necessary :) but for the fastest colour a 928 has to be in White (Grand Prix)

I'm 40 just now, so should be about the same. I got a discount from the club sponsored insurance company CVI. I'd start there if I were you. The one thing about insurance, bearing in mind I work for RBS in their insurance buildings, is there is no one size fits all insurance company.
