bernard beetle or bernard bug, what a cool first car, mine was a mk2 cortina, but it terminally failed its MOT before i passed my test, when i passed my test i got a '69 P6 rover 2000 TC when i was 19 which was pretty cool

I'm not sure it's just Beetle owners, I've known people give other cars names. Referring to your car as a he or she is a bit sad also, don't you think?

I once knew a girl who had a car called Ernest, her grandfather had asked if, after 2 attempts she was learning to drive in earnest this time !!!!!!!!!

Yes, it's handling much better now. Have you got a name for your '44 Linds? (I bet you have.)
