Yeah, it was looking like I would need 2 go big or not bother. 10cmf is really a min read you want something like 20? But it wouldn't get used much. Just figured a spray gun is a lot more constant that a rattle can, seems like I need 2 go quite heavy 2 get a shine or even coverage, which is hard in short burst. A long spray tends 2 just leak, and u can never get that last bit u need without spits. Would a 2.5 hp 50ltr £250 thing do the job? Then there's guns 2 pick? I don't mind putting the work and time in.

Terry my compressor is 2.5hp 50 ltr & with a decent gun struggles to keep up. SO you are restricted to a gun with a 1.4mm jet or so. So this will be a touch in gun. This is why I'd go for an HVLP type outfit, it won't power air tool but will be a better spray gun set up.

Thanks Jim, my dad wants a comperser 4 his work shop tools so I could try and split the cost. What would be an ideal set up? Hp ltr e.c.t there a comperser and hlv gun on eBay not sure if it much good, buy it now £170 pounds.

When you did your sills did you just treat the rust on the inner sill? Would imagining factory sills make it a safer and easyer job 2 protect my new paint as there wielded in the door shut. So no long length grinding and sparks angist the body. Will use a dremail any way neater and smaller wheel, less sparks

Terry TBH most of the low cost compressors are much of a muchness, the majority of them being assembled in china in the same factory. As I said earlier get the biggest compressor you can afford, both FAD & receiver size. Get a decent hose the starter curly ones are useless. Also get male & female PCL type connectors & PTFE as it makes connections easier. Oh & once you buy it don't leave it out of use for any length of time as the start capacitor dies AMHIK :(
Get a reasonable gun & practice. HVLP apart from dedicated systems need a massive amount of air, far more than you'll ever get domestically.

Looks good to me. Black is the worst colour to spray by a long way.
