Head lights have been funcating fine. I wired some led in 2 my dash lights. And was having a bit off trouble getting the led strip 2 sit in place with the extra length on the wire which was 2 be wired in 2 the existing bulb housing. So I got solidered it 2 the circuit board instead, now, this is were I went wrong! I reinstold the cluster and it blow the fuse, (number 38) which operateds the dash light and pop ups. Light got half way up and got stuck.

I manually winded them down replaced the bulb and put a differnt light cluster in, the lights pop up each time but down pop down? I need 2 wind them down each time. Iv swapped over the relay on the motor uint 3 times. So I'm guessing that's working. The only thing on the car that uses the same style relay is the fresh air blower and that worked b4 so iv swap with that and a spear.

So what could be causing the lights not 2 go back down? Relay must work if they pop up?

Just 2 add that the switch which pops the lights up, works 2 pop them up and turn on parking/ dash lights. The switch will turn off the dash light as well? Would the emilnated that the switch could be broken?

All I can think is it something I thouched/ knocked or something like wire that's failed/ broke from the power serging though 2 blow the fuse?

What should happen -

On the first click the switch turns the sidelights and the dashboard lights on.
On the second click the switch turns the headlights on and they pop up.
Turn the switch off one click and the headlights go off but stay up.
Turn it to the 'off' position and the sidelights and dashboard lights go off and the headlights go down.

If the headlights are staying up but the sidelights and dashboard lights are going off then the switch is fine.

I would consider looking at where you have done your soldering - you may have 'un-soldered' (i.e. caused a dry joint) on the PCB. Although if you have blown a fuse then you may have accidentally caused a short that has soldered something together - in which case you may find the track on the PCB is open-circuit (burned through).

Take it out and post a photo of it.

Iv replaced the dash cluster unit, for one which I havnt touched with a soilder. And the fuse isn't blowing. The whole thing is now functing as it always has, but the lights don't retracted.

Is I winded them down manually I can pop them up again by the switch.

What was ment by the pbc?

Sorry guys, really silly mistake on my part, I missed fused 16 which is headlight close! Had checked fuse 2 , 37,38 a few times and the relay.

Spent an hour search in the net, found a good right up on Clarkes garage and was just about 2 start wire checking with a muilt meter.

Will upload the pics off the lights later

Well done in finding that, I think we've all done something similar
