Lee, basically my air con went west and Richard supplied me with a recon unit which also went west after only being run twice, not sure why but the clutch and coil were both toast. In doing this it also took out the relay in the heater panel so this was removed and sent back to Richard with the compressor to have the relay replaced with an upgraded one.
Adrian, I removed the H shaped trim and took out the six screws and somehow managed to squeeze the heater control panel out but now, without really forcing it, it doesn't want to go back in. The wiring to the central locking switch appears to be hard wired/soldered into the back of that small panel and there's insufficient wire there for me to move this out of the way, even if I disconnect the blue plug on the back of the A/C switch. The stereo is non original so I doubt the connectors are original, I'm loathed to take the stereo out but when you say there is loads of room do you have to remove the stereo to get this?
