I drove down to the Ace Cafe with the TIPEC Central guys and had a few engine cut out problems for the first time.

Two different types of engine cut-out happened on the drive down & back which I wonder if anyone can shine light on?

1 - Went over a bump & the lights on the dashboard came on as though I had just switched the ignition on? This happened twice on the way down & once on the way back? Never happened before?

I do have the usual ignition switch issue where you have to turn it back 5deg when starting to get the lights & other interior electics to work but thats been happening for a while and is on my long list of jobs to sort out. Not sure if this is the reason but maybe???

2 - Whilst driving happily @ 80mph behind Adrian on the M40 my engine just died! No revs at all but stereo etc. still working so electrics still working? I coasted into the hard shoulder & whilst coasting stuck her in Neutral and stared her up again - started fine and blasted back into the convoy and drove fine down to the Ace Cafe?
When I started the car up to drive back in the evening it died twice whilst still on the car park before I moved off???
I drove back up the M40 with Paul Bird & Lindsey as escorts and it never missed a beat up to Warwick services. On my way back home from Warwick Services it did die on me again so I repeated the restart in the middle lane of the M40 - lights going out momentarily - and carried on driving the rest of the way home with no repeat of the problems.

Any idea's where I should start looking at solving these problems of engine cut-out?

Thanks
Steve
