South Central Cotswold Spring Drive 24th April

Post by Clive993 »

On Sat 24th April we are planning the first real spring Blat, this time out in to the Cotswolds.

Meeting for Coffee / Brekkie somewhere near the M40 (details to be confirmed) approx 9.30am then heading off on a pre planned route to the village of Broadway in the Cotswolds at about 10.30 ish. We will do a mid point meet just so everyone re gathers before we carry on at the legal speed limit.

Upon arriving partners will empty your wallet (or handbag of course) given the shops available, followed by lunch at one of the pubs in the village. As they say in all the best excursion brochures the afternoon is free to spend at your leisure. However its a wonderful area so no doubt a few might stay over and treat themselves to a weekend away.....or so I am instructed. We will not be using the regional dividend as planned, we will save that for a family BBQ one summer evening.

In order to find a place for lunch we need some approx numbers.... so please, as per usual list your interest below. Kicking it all off we have...

Would have liked to have joined in with this but going to an Irish Wedding that day. It's likely to be my last day by the sounds of it!

'Irish Wedding'? Does that mean a divorce? Political correctness has yet to reach Banbury.

Count me Clive as long as I can still come after that joke.

Update to this trip out...

1. We will be meeting for a trip round CandN Customs in the morning about 9.30. Coffee and buns will be provided..always plenty of interesting projects to see and they will be at Gaydon this year for national day

Details here... www.candncustoms.com

2. I know these things depend on the weather. But if you might go on a sunny / dry day then I need to know. I am looking to book a pub lunch and cant increase the numbers on the day. I can of course reduce the numbers if needs be.

Count us in, subject to baby sitting. Might even make the weekend of it. Because I want to, not because I have been instructed to.

Bump this up the list time with 3 weeks to go.

So far its

Clive and Jo
Pete
Sean
Steve
Dave and Jan

I think we will need a few more to get CandN customs to open up and of course I cant add more to a lunch booking on the day.

If you are going, please add your name on to the list. Its open to all from any region of course.

Cheers

Re: Cotswold Spring Drive 24th April - LAST CHANCE

Post by Clive993 »

OK this is the last bump up the list

We need to get at least 10 cars involved for CandN customs to open up their doors... its not really fair on them for just a few hardy souls to turn up.

If you would like to visit CandN please put your name on the list below.. this does not commit you to attending the drive out to the wolds !! (just state if its CandN only) Its open to everyone. If we dont have 10 by Tues 13th close of play we will just do the drive and people can turn up if they desire.

I will try and book a pub table for all those going on the drive out. As mentioned numerous times I wont be able to increase the numbers only decrease so if you want a seat at the pub...once again put your name down.

Cheers Clive

Details for this Saturday are as follows

Meet at Frankie and Bennys Banbury - Sat 10am for 10.30 heading off... if you need a map click on the link and enter Banbury as the chosen restaurant.

Frankie and Bennys Stroud Park
Ermont Way
Banbury

OX16 4SP
Tel: 01295 700 170

http://www.frankieandbennys.com/find-us

We will then head to Broadway in the Cotswolds for pub lunch with some rendezvous points along the way.

Its not too late to join, the weather is meant to be good so either feel free to just turn up on the day or let me know in advance and we can ensure a seat at the lunch table.

All quite informal but we wanted a chance to just drive these cars in lovely surroundings.. so here is that chance !
