I adjusted the height of my headlights today so that both lights were (almost) level with each other. I had two problems with this, afterwards the nearside light would raise fine but when it came to going back down it froze then slammed shut in one motion which I managed to fix by raising the light again and using a hammer to bend the hinge into a slightly straighter position.

Is there a way to change the point where both lights have settled shut because even after adjusting the nearside light was still sitting slightly proud of the badge panel?

Hi,

Try the following link:

http://www.clarks-garage.com/

On the left hand of the screen, click 'garage shop manual'. Click on 'H' for headlights and there are 3 related topics. Hopefully, one of these topics will cover what you want.

Hope this helps.

Each light is mounted to the bodywork by means of two triangular plates with three mounting bolts. Simply loosen all 6 bolts and then position the headlamp where you want it to be before gradually tightening up each bolt. It can be quite maddening and take a while, as every time you pinch up one bolt it can move the headlamp out of position by a few millimetres

The bolts for the outside plate can only be reached inside the wheel arch liner - which doesn't help matters

Very simple to adjust the home position.

Lift the bonnet and you can see the two black brackets the lifting bar is supported by.
Each bracket is held in place by 2 M6 bolts.
Loosen the bolts slightly and the bracket can be slid front<>rear.
This action will adjust the light.

That sounds like what I'm after. Thanks.
