If you look in 'cars for sale' section there is a little more about it :)

It's strange that the 924 was one of the only Porsche s not to have an 'official' cabriolet version.

I'm always glad to chat about my Toys 8)

I'm not that far from you either!

Chris

I'll be doing the Aviva Classic starting from Silverstone, but in my Carrera - The Red Shed is still in the body shop.

Finally managed to get a picture of it on my computer. This was right after i bought it in June, it just had CS suspension set up and various other bits... since then its been very bad and has had to visit the mechanic a few times! but i love it. its a 91 Jap import with 96,000km's on the clock, wonderful condition on the exterior but interior sun damaged (cracked dash, faded etc) it just suffers from too little use with sudden action as a daily driver in Brussels.

The goods points for me is that it has no sunroof or headlight washers so even a bit of factory weight saving from day 1.

Its a fixer upper, new year will bring re-trim and cam belts.

Hey ... err ... this is a bit like going into the playground where the big lads play!

Only had my 1989 944 2.7 lhd auto for a year or so. I knew nothing about Porsches back then and I'm still learning less and less about more and more. At least now I've a good idea how little I know.
I'm hoping this process bottoms out soon - so I can chat to like-minded enthusiasts without seeming like a complete dork !!

Luckily, none of this matters. I love my 944. I feel like I've found my partner in life - much to the chagrin of my lady. When she accused me of caring more about my car than I did about her, I instinctively replied "I care more about [i]your car than I do about you" ... No , you're right, I'm not noted for my tact and diplomacy. Kamikaze-Gob is probably closer to the mark.

Well, I'm looking forward to chatting to you guys. I have plenty of questions ... Should the heating system gurgle like a 50 year-old boiler? ... How do you open windows/sunroof without the gearbox suround turning into a night storage heater ... Why does the whole car rumble and vibrate on cold starts and standing in drive at traffic lights - as though you parked on a small volcano .......... and many more.

I want to get the old girl moving and shaking like a babe.
Remember the words of Woody Allen - " Sex is like playing Bridge ... if you don't have a good partner, you'd better have a good hand".
hasta luego ... demonpedro

Here's a couple of pictures of my 250 turbo complete with no sunroof and bee-sting aerial!

Very nice 8)

How come the external aerial instead of the windscreen one? Only seen non sunroof versions in a Turbo S. Was the sunroof an option to fit or delete, anyone know?

Andy

Hi Andy

The bee-sting aerial was fitted by the previous owner, I couldn't tell you if it's wired up. My aerial works fine, whichever one it is! I quite like it though as it breaks the roof up a bit, don't think it would look right on a sunroof model.

My car is a 250 model but by 1990 they had dropped the S designation. There is no mention of sunroof delete on my options, so not sure.

I do know it's very rare though.

Cheers

Stuart

I was intrigued as never seen an SE without a sunroof. What other options have you got, unusual one on my SE is cruise control and it works  But I have no remote boot release :?

Loving the forged SE wheels on yours. Regret getting rid of mine even though they were a bit tatty

Andy
