I was just chatting to Helen at Travel Destinations and there are now 30 pitches booked with TiPEC. Looks like this is gunna be a lot of fun

There are just 14 pitches left now so if you’re considering coming to this event don’t think for too long! In fact just book it – you WILL NOT be disappointed

Can't wait. I'm booked, and a few others in Thames Valley are talking about it (quickly I hope given the booking numbers...)

Most of the details are now finalised and those of you that have pre-booked will have contact from TD in due course.

Prices have remained very reasonable considering the Euro/Sterling position

Details are here: http://www.lemansrace.com/dpage.html?pageid=19

There are a fair few of us going next year so we should have a great weekend :D

Just got my mail from TD, probably use the Chunnel as it'll be quicker. Anyone else got any preferences.

We'll drive and use the Chunnel cos its more of a road trip that way. I will ask TD to advise everyone to use (or at least recommend) the same crossing so we're all together.

Think we did Friday 7am chunnel last year. No doubt Paul will be on with a suggestion. Think its worth waiting to see what Paul has organised so as many as poss can travel in convoy (or maybe more than one convoy if there are enuf cars)

Sorry Folks

Got a lot on this week and only just manged to speak with TD today. The plan is to go as we did in 2008 so I've gone for the 7.20am crossing outbound on Friday 9th July. Allowing for about 4 hours driving that puts us at le Mans for around lunchtime so plenty of time to get in a trip to the supermarket, pitch tents etc and still enjoy the late afternoon/evening practice sessions.

Brian and I will stay in Kent overnight to allow a short trip to the Chunnel on the Friday morning and I suggest we all meet at the Chunnel to cross together and then drive across France in convoy.

On the return trip Brian and I will leave Le Mans late sunday afternoon and overnight sunday in the same french hotel we used last year about half way back to Calais. Then a return chunnel crossing at 12.20pm Monday lunchtime. I will post both the hotel details nearer time so anyone that wants to use the same stop-overs can join us in the bar! :D

Costs are finalised at £279 per person (based on two travelling in each car) to include return crossing, race permits, grandstand entry and camping permits. Obviously if you use hotels either side of the crossing it will significantly add to your costs.

I know that some will travel by ferry overnight from Portsmouth to Caen or you may choose to return on sunday night (or camp another night) and avoid the hotel cost and that's down to personal choice and for you to sort with TD. The important part is for us all to travel outbound together if we can as it adds to the weekend road trip.

Finally - and most importantly - Everyone that pre-registered with Travel Destinations should by now have had contact from same to confirm the booking with a £75 per person deposit.
Please note the deposit must be paid by the end of October or you will lose your place

Any queries/questions please ask them in this thread or send me a PM

Paul :D

Thanks Paul - man thats an early crossing again. i'll try not to be late next year. Well I wasn't late last year - I like to call it 'just in time'!

I heard there was some football match or other same weekend at Classic Le Mans!
