Yep, I finally gave in and cleaned my car. Instead of paying a bloke to do it for me, this year I gave my 944 the annual ‘full monty’ with my own elbow grease instead.
I even bought a hosepipe. That’s a big deal when you have no garden and live on the first floor.
Took me two days (allowing for dog walking breaks, beer breaks, etc), but I think it’s been worth it. No pictures I’m afraid, because when I tried all you could see was the reflection of the neighbours’ gaffs.
A combination of Bilt-Hamber and Adam’s Polishes products seemed to do a really nice job (the Adam’s Polishes ‘Detailing Spray’ really is magic in a can and a lovely finishing touch).
My shoulders are killing me now though. All that buffing’s done for me. Time to take the dog out to the pub, I think.
Hopefully now all the car will need after the 330 mile drive to Gaydon tomorrow is a wheel clean and a quick once over with the detailing spray … fingers crossed!
(Mind you, bet I end up needing to clean the footwell carpets … Riley gets carsick quite easily!)

Re: First bufty
This pic was from after cleansing, washing and claying. Before waxing and doing the windows.
The funny lines you can see are ’planes in the sky, not marks in my paint!
I’d already done the interior and what have you (carpets, vinyl, leather, interior glass etc). That was the hard part, given that Riley had vomited all over the place last weekend. Spirited drive with PCGB + dog in the passenger seat = bad idea.
Now, definitely pub time. Riley’s thirsty, obviously.

Re: First bufty
That looks impressive, had the day off today. Washed car & given it a quick polish, I use Bilt Hamber stuff as well. It really needs repainting so not made a meal of it. I'll do the glass tomorrow AM before we leave.

Very impressive. I think I'll turn up in the missus' car on Sunday - you put me to shame Tony.

It's a dangerous path you have ventured on Mr Tony, you'll be entering in the concours next year.

I think he has full permission … last year it was Jo I spotted taking a cotton bud to the front end panel gaps, not Clive!

Re: First bufty
Looks a lot better than mine. Just knocked the thick **** off it. No time to put any polish on or clean it properly. Will have to park at the back somewhere.
