Not as bad as mine which were like that all along the sill & up the inner sill to the seat belt mounting points  :o

There is a panel available for this bit, either OPC or from someone like Club Autosport as the guy who did mine used it.

Thats like mine. In the bodyshop at the moment having new metal welded in. There just using sheet steel & beating it to shape. They already did the drivers side. Also taking the glass out to repair the A post thats rusted to a hole. Quote £500 with paint job in clear coat. including all the roof. Pasenger door & rear wing. (The other side & front end was done last winter.) Guide price for that bit would be £250 if they know what there doing. But the more you have done the cheaper it gets. Credit crunch helps. :)

Here's some progress on the repair, got some more pics to show the inner repair/rebuild.

Got a fabby at work to construct the sections from sheet metal (the outer sill cuts in first then out to return at the wheelarch ), bit of a special.

That is looking good. It is a common mudtrap so quite a vulnerable area.

Hi Jim,

yeh the guy who's doing the fab work is amazing, he does all the rollcage and exhaust header work for the Touring cars. spot on, just picks up a flat piece of steel and cuts and welds to shape in minutes.

where were your pics located, i can remember them but not the location ?

Havn't taken any pics yet as I havn't cleaned the outside. I didn't ask them what stone chip they used but it looks good. They also repaired a crushed sill at the bottem of the front wing from bad jacking so did all the length. Need to pop back as they havn't put the colour card back in the car. I'le ask then.

That rusty section at the rear of the sill (where the torsion bar bush mount is bolted),is identical to mine, as you said this looks a common area of corrosion.

Managed to get a good repair section welded in (will post some pics monday as on my work pc)

what type of anti corrosion fluid did you use (access down where the vent grille is on the b -post )

will post all the pics early next week as on my work pc, still got the paint and a little filler job to do at the weld to the wing seam. feels much better when you see all the crude cut out and on workshop floor when you do the clear up, and when the fresh metal is welded in the car though eh :D

All the plastic does is cover the rust until it is too late!
