WEDNESDAY 4th FEBRUARY 2009
TIPEC SCOTLAND MINUTES

Apologies were sent from Tony and Jen Blow.

Stewart Gordon welcomed all at this months meeting. 11 bodies in total some what down on numbers tonight, this was to be expected with the threat of snow that was forecasted once again. Nice to see 924 HUI out for a wee winter run, welcome back wee man !! Another 924, guard’s red of course to join the club later this month to keep HUI company!!

Stewart then had the some what difficult job of telling the club that very sadly Steph Steveson had passed away at the weekend after a long illness. Funeral arrangements are as follows: Camelon Crematorium, Dorrator Road, Camelon, Falkirk, FY2 7YJ. Service at 11am, Friday 6th February. Steph had requested no flowers and instead a donation to the Strathcarron Nursing Home and a Cancer charity to be decided. The region has pledged £50 to Steph’s wishes and other donations from individuals will be on the day and some were made at the meeting past. Our thoughts are with Scott and Steph’s family at this sad time.

Next on the agenda were the results of the RO and ARO positions for the forthcoming year. There were 26 votes/opinions on the matter and the net result is that 96.15% voted for the current team to carry the club forward once again, no new names were put forward for any position; therefore the current team will once again plan ahead for the 2009 season. There were some lovely comments with reference to the current RO and ARO’s and we would just like to thank all who did comment and it was very much appreciated and makes ever thing worth while.

Brunston Castle Golf Club was the January Sunday winter run (25th) and an excellent turn out with 25 bodies and there were 9 Porsches of all varieties. Graham Morrison looked very much at home on the driving range, I suspect a miss spent youth. Many thanks to Tony Flint and his good lady for there hospitality on the day.
The next and final winter/meet run will be on Sunday the 22nd February at the Atholl Arms Hotel Situate 7 Miles North of Pitlochry, Meeting arrangements to follow from Stewart Gordon. Those wishing to go please contact Stewart Gordon ASAP.

Stewart then made reference to all the good suggestions that have been made for the season ahead and Stewart, Alan and myself will be meeting prior to the March meeting in order to pick out the ideas that would be good for the club for this season. Please remember it would be impossible to carry out all the ideas suggested by you the members as there were so many excellent suggestions put forward.

Stewart then went on to mention that a Scottish region bank account has now been opened and that all region funds will be deposited into this a/c ASAP and the account has been opened and in joint names of Stewart Gordon, Alan Neilson and Neil Fraser, this account requires 2 signatures to withdraw money for whatever reason. You maybe aware or not aware that head office now give money to each region to the value of £3 per member once a year. This money is now banked, hence the reason for the account being open. We have still to establish with head office exactly what the money can be spent on etc. this information will be to follow.

The annual show to Gaydon this year will be supported by the Scottish region and the date for this will be on Sunday the 31st of MAY 2009 and as per normal we will make a weekend of it guys and dolls traveling down on the Friday till the Sunday or Monday . Neil Fraser to arrange accommodation etc / Names etc to me ASAP it’s not that far away folks.
The diary of events will be finalized at the March meeting then published in the ALL TORQUE for members to see.

The region will become a member of the SVVF (Scottish vintage vehicle federation) for 2010 and membership to this organization will be determined in the later part of 2009 and will be paid by the region.

James McLaughlin will be looking into an autumn run for the Lake District this year, we think for the September time, details to follow at the next meet in March. Many thanks so far James for your help on this one.

We look forward to seeing you all at the February winter run or the next meet in March. Please remember we are at the The Bo-Ness Motor Museum, Bridgeness Road, Bo-Ness,EH51 9JR. for our monthly meet please come along 8pm start time. This venue has light refreshments and a car museum all under one roof not to mention a good sized car park.

Many thanks,
Neil Fraser (ARO EAST OF SCOTLAND)

Thanks Neil, very thorough!

We're almost definatly going to Gaydon, but we're thinking about camping, due to canine companion, will let you know either way asap.

Looking forward to some of the shows this summer, lets hope we get some sun this time!
