Unfortunately the credit crunch has hit me and I'm being made redundant. It is with much heart ache I'm selling my beloved 944 turbo viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1594 As you can see this used to be Toms car. She has now covered 110000 miles and will be sold with a full years MOT. She will also come with wheels pictured in viewtopic.php?f=25&t=34&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=180 as well as the D90's with nearly new rubber. Also with the car, but not fitted are 968 cup mirrors, Brand new 968 door handles, A new after market steering wheel and boss kit, a carbon look dash kit, a new illuminated porsche gear lever with leather gaiter from germany, aluminum speedo bezels and all the dash and control lights in blue Leds. I've also repaired and re-died the leather front seats to a very good standard and will supply 5 ltrs of the custom mixed beige die to do the rest of the interior. (Back seat, Lower dash, center console and lower door cards). I've also got another dash as mine has a few cracks and a new 4.3 dvd sat nav head unit. I'm asking for about the same money as I paid for her including the new wheels and all the above mentioned parts. Gary

Thanks for all the kind replies Guys. I want to try to sell the bits with the car but if I don't I've got a growing list of people who want things so I'll let you know.

I was >< this close to redundancy earlier in the month myself. Horrible feeling. Jen and I had already started arguing over which car to sell first—’44 or Mini.

Hope something comes along for you so soon that you don’t need to sell up.

Moderators can remove this if they like, I won't be offended.

Have you considered all your options? Selling the car is a short-term solution which will lose you something that you will not be able to replace, like for like, for the same money you get for it.

I do not know your personal circumstances so this is a general observation -

Being made redundant implies a redundancy payment, which is paid gross with no tax deducted, which in turn buys you time to seek employment. If one was to sell their car and then get employment in the next month one would kick oneself.

After twenty years as a Financial Adviser I have a lot of clients and at the moment a lot of them need help. I review everything they have and see where they can save ££s and keep creditors off their backs. Sometimes I do things that are 'needs must' but are flexible enough to review at any time when and if things get better for them. I do everything for free, no fees, nothing hidden, it's just a numbers game - the more people I see the more likely I am to do business, therefore the 'freebies' are covered by the ones where I earn. There's quite a few things that can be done to help people, but everybody's situation is different so it would be foolish of me to start writing things here.

This is not an advertisement for business, I don't advertise, I don't need to (not a brag, I've just got a lot of clients), and I wouldn't abuse the forums like that. It's a genuine offer to help.... if I can. Everything is totally confidential, so if anybody else knows it's because you told them. So with that in mind, if anybody wants to ask about anything financial then just contact me -

t: 01565 659318
m: 07778 176300

If it isn't deleted I'll also put this offer on a seperate thread as a few people seem to be in the same boat.

Actually. In the last dip. I was made redundant. Had a nice car but was partly on credit. (Was going through my 4x4 phase. Landrover 90 modified Turbo Deasel 150hp & too much torque.) Paniced & sold it. 6 Weeks later I got another job! Boy was I sick. Had to drive a Kia Pride (wearing a paper bag ) for 12mths while I got enough together to buy a car! Might be worth giving it 6 weeks. :)

Believe me I've thought of every possible way of keeping my car. This is not something I'm taking lightly. I'm a silk screen printer with 23 years in the game, but even if I were to find another job in the same trade, the wages would be know where near the kind I'm used to. Three colleges and I are currently sounding out old customers with a view to starting up a business of our own. Because of this I've decided to get rid of any unnecessary luxury and the porsche falls into this category. I have to put the house first. I could well kick my self until the day I die but you have to do what you have to do. Besides I'll always remember the thrill of owning and driving a porsche which is more than a lot of people can say.
