See a lot of references to people switching to manual roof operation, as if this is a good thing.
Why is that? Is it just a weight saving choice? Do people remove the motor aswell?

No they don’t remove the motors, with the age and design they are a nightmare to setup and slow, changing to manual means you can do the roof in about 1/4 of the time
Also,when the motors get out of sync they can twist the main folding bows, and break them, at nearly a K each...........
