Look, Guys, I've just sold my 20-year-old Porsche for some newer Stuttgart metal.

This really needs updating as things have changed.

Vehicles over 40 years old (rolling forward each year, not fixed date) can be re-classified as 'Historic' which means £0 VED and no requirement for MOT. You do however need to tax the car each year. But once classed as Historic, the charge will be £0 and a current MOT is not needed.

A petition to reduce the 40 year HISTORIC cut off has already been dealt with and the government response was simply that they still consider 40 years to be appropriate and they have no intention of changing it.

I'd love it to be 30, or even 25 years, but I don't think it's going to happen.
