It seems pointless to me that Maclaren appealed against the penalty.
The infringement was on the track and the options for the stewards were:
1 - A drive through Penalty,
2 - 25 seconds added to race time
3 - 10 places docked at next starting grid.

The FIA have thrown the appeal out because a penalty issued during the race can't be appealed against.
Surely Maclarens legal eagles would have read before they went through all the hoops :!:

Hamiltons only chance would have been if he was notified of the penalty before the end of the race and then served the drive-through in the pit lane on the last lap.
Sorry, only Micheal Schumacher in a Ferrari can get away with that one

Don't get me wrong, I think the penalty should not have been imposed but the whole appeal circus seems more like a circus act to keep the interest for all parties.

I must be getting cynical in my old age :|

i'm struggling not to be cynical. change the rules in the closed season to make the racing/championship closer but don't manipulate the results, it just makes it a farce :(

additionally, i've got a couple of hundred channels on contrived shite on my sky system so i choose to watch sport cos it's real.... or is it?

yes, brilliant sketch that one!! looks like Ferrari have shot themselves in the foot again! theyve ruined Massa s chances this year and its a shame cos hes done really well and would have been a deserving champion. :( theres still a slim chance for him in the last three races but its looking more and more like its Hamiltons to lose(again). :angel13:

i'm sure the FIA will find a way of scuppering hamiltons first world championship, maybe the white line on the softer tyres is a millimetre too thin !!
