Can anyone recommend a good body shop that can fit new sills to my 944S in Cheshire area.? I know this won't be cheap, but I intend to keep this car for sometime. Porsche still supply sills at around £300 a piece, unless anyone knows where I can get a good pattern set. I am budgeting for around £2k ( I hope !)

can't help with a bodyshop near you but a word of advice, if intending on using pattern parts best check with your chosen bodyshop first, some may not fit pattern parts due to extra work involved or if they do will probably charge more. Personally, I'd buy genuine parts unless you plan to do the work yourself.

cheers

Pete

Personally I'd just go genuine and be done with it. It is not like you will be doing the job again either. And as said, the price of labour on a cheaper part can soon come close, if now outstrip the value of the genuine replacement but with an inferior result.

If it makes you feel better a mate of mine has a Citroen DS. IIRC he's been quoted around £500-600 a wing. It's costing him between £150-300 to get his current wings sorted out by a classic car shop ; the bottoms had basically been filled in before and they had been repainted many times before ; they had to be soda blasted to to the super thin metal used from the factory ; even the doors can be pushed in by breathing on them!

Thanks guys, looking like genuine parts and shopping around.
If I find someone who does a good job i'll pass it on. Sills are my worst worry, everything else is flexible. There again had some fun and games rebuilding a front ballpoint from a kit. Better that I new suspension arm though.
