hi all,

remember reading somting about a forum member buying struts off ebay and them messing up his heated rear screen.

berlyn have some a bit chaper than porsche shop but i'm worried about running into similar problems, do we think they'd be ok?

wheres the best place to get struts that will do the job at a decent price?

That was me unfortunately,still looking into the problem ...the struts are great though!
I would have bought them from Porsche Shop although they are dearer

One of my guys was going to buy from a specialist & then found they were cheaper from OPC with TIPEC discount & no hassle about whether they work.

cheapest at berlyn but postage seemed like a rip off at £10
opc wanted 33 each.

ended up getting a working set of a late 944 from porschapart of £10 each and a fiver postage

Got mine from German French Swedish. It was a while ago but they were £15. Discount for club members as well. No postage as I have a local branch. Heated rear screen still works!

My bonnet struts came from there and so far so good. They were indistinguishable from the the worn ones too.

I bought the front and rear sets from a dealer on fleabay. about £47 for all four and postage
They work okay but must admit, I didn't fit them. My mechanic saw they were in the car waiting to be fitted and was fed up with the bonnet dropping on his head
I did have to refit the rear hatch wire for the heated screen.

I did my fronts as the bonnet would regularly try and knock some sense into me when the wind got up
