One of the little plastic sliders in the side mirror motor has snapped, meaning I can only adjust the mirror left to right but not up and down. Can you buy and replace these little components? If so, where is the best place to get them from, or would I have to replace the entire mirror?

I bought a complete motor for a mk4 golf on ebay. Basically the same, needed some slight wiring mods. Tenner delivered, job done.

To answer your original question you cannot buy the broken bit you have and if you could it would be a nightmare to fit iirc.

Comman part to fail.

The mirror motors are Comman and can be found from many other brands, euro Germany and American, at different prices. Just need to look the same from the front. Wiring us soldered so your need an iron to remove and replace.
