Steering wheel mounted audio remote control

Post by Astroman »

Has anyone tried a steering wheel mounted remote control for the car audio such as this -

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pioneer ... one-button

and do you have any idea if it will work with the PCM system. Car is a 2014 Cayman.

I had something similar many moons ago. (2004 i think)....It got in the way when steering & sometimes the infrared signal ws blocked by simple things such as my fingers lol. I ended up locating it on the drivers arm rest on a piece of velcro as I had to point it at the infra-red receiver on the stereo. Might be able to get one for under £10 on ebay... Good luck... :D

In the late 90's I had a Sony headunit which had a remote stalk and it let me control pretty much everything. It was wired so lived next to the wiper stalk so but had no issues of blocking any signal. Even though I had to take my hand of the steering wheel it quickly became second nature to make changes without the need to look away from the road.

Thanks
