I have an early 944 with the lower steering wheel, and no power steering (so changing to a smaller wheel isn't really an option). I quite like the stock seats, but am wondering if there is either a way to lower the stock seat, or are there any replacement seats from other models that allow you to sithe lower?

your seats may well still have the riser blocks on the seats. remove seats and have a look.

Also the steering wheel is off centre, higher in the straight ahead position but hits you legs when you turn.
I've swapped for a Momo and much prefer it

Series one seats are a little higher than series two seats (hence series two seats having height adjustment), but a better bet for increased leg room is to fit one or two 60mm steering boss extensions. These give a gentle lift too, but their main benefit is in allowing you to straighten your legs - giving lots of knee room.

This will entail using an aftermarket steering wheel, but it should be worth it.

I already have an aftermarket wheel - just installed it last weekend. MX5 Momo wheel, non-concentric spacer, and new boss. Sits about the same place as the stock wheel. Might look into a boss extension. Thanks for the advice

Here's the result if anyone is interested.
Out with the old:

In with the not-as-old. Mk1 MX5 wheel, with non-concentric adaptor.

The non-concentric adapter (Momo I presume?) will retain the original wheels feature, but what you gain going straight ahead, you lose going around a corner...

You will need sufficient spacing to allow your legs to fully straighten. When they do you will have lots of room.

Youll need at least one 60mm spacer and probably two.
