Thank you for the reply pauly, so you are saying remove the excess material . Could you explain the benefits of these ports, obviously porsche thought they were neccessary but why ? I am led to believe that EMC leave their liners complete but wait to be corrected.

Googling windage ports will give a better explanation of the benefits than I can offer or check Lindsey's website perhaps. I believe some shops machine the cutouts in the liners before installing.

Here is a comparison between s2 piston, machined Je piston for 8 valve turbo to use with 16 valve head and coated je piston which will replace the 968 items eventually. Also a shot of the ppm con rod against an s2 rod.

Windage ports on the 2.7 and 3.0 blocks are very important.

Off boost, 2.8's, 3.0's and 3.2's are great... My only problem is once tuned there is such a thing as too much power.

You can have a 2.5 with 420BHP and 400 ft-lbs of torque and you are on the edge of traction even with the widest tyres and the most beefy of LSD's.. But put the same tuning parts onto a 3.0 or a 3.2 and you have an absolute beast.

I have had a 3.2 spin the wheels at 120 mph by just being too snappy with the throttle... Torque begins to be a bit of an enemy at that point...

You can of course run them with less boost, especially in the midrange where the torque becomes a traction issue.. but that almost goes against the grain!

Has anyone ever put together a list of all parts required for a 3.0 Turbo ala 968 Turbo RS?
